Guangzhou Wester Tower, located on the central axis of Zhujiang New Town, faces East Tower over Central Plaza. Its total area reaches 449,000m2, with the total consumption of steel reaching about 40,000t.
The main tower is 432m tall in building height and has 103 storeys above the ground. It adopts the structural system of oblique grid tubular pillar outer cylinder plus concrete inner cylinder structure, and the plane of centrosymmetric rounded-corner equilateral triangle. Each layer has 15 “X” nodes; maximum steel pipe 1800×55, minimum steel pipe 700×20; upper and lower adjacent steel pipes are butt-jointed by penetration welding; intermediate draw plate can reach up to 100mm in thickness.
Guangzhou Zhonghong has undertaken the processing and manufacturing work of partial steel structure of main building.
